The Main Goal of Indaro Center

Our main goal is to work on child Protection and Participation as pathway to reach the Responses, related youth and children’s Recreation and Resilience to any abuse as rights to protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence as expressed in the CRC Convention on the Rights of the child and African Charter on child protection, National Social Protection Policy in Rwanda, Refugee treaties and other conventions, national laws and other human rights or humanitarian instruments related. Child protection deals with issues that are sensitive, sometimes stigmatizing and often hidden (such as domestic violence and sexual abuse), and with violations that are often socially accepted (such as corporal punishment).

Brief Description of the Organization

Since its foundation in 2016, Indaro Center has grown to offer quality Reintegration, formal and informal education, human service programs and addressing environmental issues; and changing social protection challenges affecting community.

INDARO is Kinyarwanda word, which means a place to live/family, and in our case, it is a safe place/family for Children and teenagers to be well cared and reintegrated those who were previously living on the streets or those whose parents cannot take Care of them. Indaro Center also provides different program including arts in talent development that guide kids towards a better future. It was legally registered by No 958/RGB/NGO/LG/02/2024, and is now being governed by the law Nº 04/2012 of 17/02/2012, governing the organization and the functioning of national, Non-Governmental organizations.

Prevention of delinquency drive; Protection, Participation under rehabilitation of former street children and other manipulation against the Human being. We do reintegration through our multi-disciplinary network of programs as treatment and economic development for future generation. We serve more parents of the vulnerable children and youth in reinforcement childcare and family self-sufficiency in community. Indaro Center programs include mental health, family-capacity building services, vocational training and self-reliance support. We operate in afterschool programs approach for young children facilitators as Volunteers/trainers in English language, Mathematic, French and basic literacy education, and much more to facilitate the later children revolved posterior from delinquency to school and other related issues in community.

INDARO Center works in partnership with the government of Rwanda and its relevant agencies, NGOs partners and works with physical and moral persons to foster interventions that support social protection and governance; the idea is to prevent against the root cause of delinquency, which is not issue in urban/cities but issue to the root (family-community) and all related prevention have to start there with inclusive spirit. Actual street children like other people fighting to survive in their world but with addiction and poverty. What we can do together is to manage the delinquency, dropout of school, with local leaders who are in charge of managing delinquency issues and prevent children to move from villages to urban cities.
